Never, not for one second, doubt that Jables loves his Rage Kage. Kyle Gass confirmed to Rolling Stone<\/a> that Tenacious D will return. \u201cWe\u2019re gonna come back,\u201d he says. \u201cIt\u2019s gonna be bigger than Oasis!\u201d Onstage in Australia in July 2024, Gass made what he thought was a silly goofy birthday wish: that the next would-be Trump assassin not miss. \u201cIt was terrible judgment, obviously,\u201d Gass says. \u201cI\u2019ve felt terrible ever since, because it\u2019s such a responsibility to not screw up like that.\u201d The remarks got picked up by the right-wing outrage machine, with some calling for Gass to be deported back to America. In the aftermath, Black issued a statement<\/a> canceling the D\u2019s tour and putting further projects on hold.<\/p>\n Gass says one reason the band had to cancel their world tour was concern for everyone\u2019s safety, including the band\u2019s families. \u201cSomebody called my mom,\u201d he says. \u201cMy poor 95-year-old mom. It hits close to home, and you want to be brave and courageous, but I\u2019m not a congressman. We\u2019re just entertainers.\u201d<\/p>\n Gass says he doesn\u2019t begrudge Black for distancing himself: \u201cWe had to take the break. And I got it. Jack has this magnificent career; I can\u2019t even count the franchises now. So as hard as it was, I just had to take the long ride home.\u201d The ride still appears to be ongoing, however. When asked about a potential reunion date, Gass says, \u201cWe will serve no D-wine before it\u2019s D-time.\u201d But the bond between bandmates remains strong. Gass says the pair hashed things out a while back, and Black said something similar in August 2024<\/a>.
