Gosselin had only recently recovered from a leg injury she sustained in September which required surgery.<\/p>\n

She said the sudden rush \u201csent me off my feet for a second\u201d.<\/p>\n

Gosselin said her boyfriend and former bodyguard Steve Neild was on the scene to assist supermarket staff and shoppers who gave chase.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love that Steve turns right back into a cop on a moment\u2019s notice,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The 50-year-old mother-of-eight compared the quick response of staff and bystanders to what she\u2019s observed back in the States.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou should see all the Kiwi men running after him, trying to stop him. Everybody\u2019s on their phone to the police. It\u2019s a big deal here, because honestly, there\u2019s not much crime here,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn America, they would have just let him go.<\/p>\n

\u201cOften-times, [people] don\u2019t pitch in and they don\u2019t try to stop it. It\u2019s so refreshing to see. There was like six or eight of them that went flying after him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gosselin added that even she contributed to efforts to halt the thief in his tracks, kicking his shoe as he made a break for it, according to the Daily Mail.<\/p>\n

She was also heard shouting \u201cgood job guys\u201d as two New World staff returned the shopping trolley to the supermarket.<\/p>\n

Gosselin reported the thief managed to escape in a waiting car, but not before several members of the public took down the vehicle\u2019s number plate, which she said was \u201cso cool\u201d.<\/p>\n

She was seen in a previous TikTok walking around the New World admiring New Zealand products such as Vogel bread and crumpets, exclaiming \u201cAmerica could never\u201d.<\/p>\n

Kate Plus 8 was a reality show about the Gosselin family: Kate, her estranged husband Jon and their eight children, fraternal twins and sextuplets.<\/p>\n

The hit show enjoyed an 11-season run from 2007-2017.<\/p>\n

Gosselin and her children travelled to New Zealand in 2011 to film an episode which featured visits to \u014ctorohanga Kiwi House, Waitomo Caves and Rotorua.<\/p>\n
