\u201cMy family did not approve of you initially\u201d<\/p>\n

While Archana<\/a>\u2019s family was supportive of the relationship, Parmeet revealed that resistance came from his side.\u201cHowever, my family did not approve of you initially because you were older than me and an actress, which was considered taboo at the time. There was tension at home, especially with my parents,\u201d Parmeet shared. <\/p>\n

He added that when marriage proposals started coming his way, he remained firm about his choice.\u201cWhen marriage proposals started coming my way, I clearly said that I wanted to marry the person I loved and no one else,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The terrace conversation that changed everything<\/p>\n

Recalling the turning point, Parmeet shared how one late-night conversation sealed their fate.\u201cThat night, while standing on the terrace, I asked you if you wanted to start over with someone else. You said no, and I said the same. That\u2019s when I asked if we should get married, and you said yes. I decided that if we truly wanted to do this, it had to be done immediately,\u201d he recalled.<\/p>\n

A midnight drive straight out of a Bollywood film<\/p>\n

What followed felt like a scene straight out of a movie.\u201cWe got into the car and first went to a temple near Amitabh Bachchan\u2019s old house, but there was no priest there. Then I suggested an Arya Samaj temple. We went there, spoke to the priest, and said we wanted to get married, right then,\u201d Parmeet revealed.Eventually, the couple tied the knot the very next morning on Archana\u2019s terrace. <\/p>\n

\u201cOnce we were sure, we didn\u2019t want to wait\u201d<\/p>\n

Looking back, Archana reflected on how opposition played a role in their decision.\u201cIn many ways, the main reason we got married the way we did was because of the disapproval from your parents. Had that not been the case, we might have taken more time. But once we were sure about each other, we knew we didn\u2019t want to wait any longer,\u201d she said. For the uninitiated, Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi got married in 1992 after dating for nearly eight years. Archana is seven years older than Parmeet.
