Last Week Tonight<\/a>\u00a0is coming back, and not a moment too soon. Those who have trouble processing the news without the help of\u00a0John Oliver<\/a>\u00a0need only wait a few more weeks.<\/p>\n LateNighter has learned that the acclaimed late-night show will kick off its new season Sunday, February 15. LWT\u2019s Season 13 premiere will air the same night HBO kicks off the second and concluding season of its series adaptation of Like Water for Chocolate, and will follow new episodes of Industry and A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.<\/p>\n For most of its run, Last Week Tonight has followed the same cadence of releasing 30 episodes between February and November. Oliver\u2019s last season wrapped back before Thanksgiving with an episode focused on the importance of public broadcasting, culminating in a charity auction<\/a> that ultimately raised $1.54 million (fueled by a record million-dollar bid<\/a> for an original Bob Ross painting).<\/p>\n Twelve years after its April 2014 launch, Last Week Tonight continues to be a boon for HBO and HBO Max, generating conversation with its weekly deep dives into everything from Medicare Advantage to Minor League Baseball, performing well on YouTube, and consistently bringing home Emmy Awards<\/a> (and three Peabody Awards<\/a>, to boot).<\/p>\n Oliver and HBO have yet to announce a series renewal beyond the end of the show\u2019s upcoming 13th season later this year. (The show\u2019s last three-year renewal was announced in December 2023.)<\/p>\n Last Week Tonight\u2019s Season 13 premiere airs Sunday, February 15 at 11:00 p.m. ET on HBO and HBO Max.<\/p>\n
