Police released chilling new details this morning in an appeal to help find a man with a warrant for murder.<\/p>\n
Julian Ingram, also known as Pierpoint, aged 37, is wanted by police on an outstanding warrant for murder.<\/p>\n
Police released an image of him as efforts to locate him continue.<\/p>\n
He is described as being of Aboriginal\/Torres Strait Islander appearance, about 1.65m-1.7m tall, of medium build, with short dark hair and brown eyes.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was last seen driving a Ford Ranger utility with NSW registration DM-07-GZ described as having council signage, a metal tray back, high-visibility markings on the side and an emergency light bar on the roof,\u201d police said.<\/p>\n
Strike Force and the Defence Force involved<\/p>\n
Overnight, specialist police were flown into Lake Cargelligo by PolAir and the Defence Force, including a tactical operations unit, negotiators, and homicide investigators.<\/p>\n
They have joined the large-scale search for Ingram.<\/p>\n
Police have also established Strike Force Doberta to investigate the circumstances leading up to the shootings.<\/p>\n
They said officers from Central West Police District found a 25-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man in a vehicle with gunshot wounds. They were treated but died at the scene.<\/p>\n
After reports of a second shooting, they went to Walker St, where they found a 50-year-old woman and a 19-year-old man reportedly shot in the driveway.<\/p>\n
\u201cBoth were treated; however, the woman died at the scene while the man was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition,\u201d police said this morning.<\/p>\n
No police were involved in the shootings.<\/p>\n
\u2018Confronting\u2019: Police Commissioner paints grim scenes<\/p>\n
Late yesterday, Holland said police senses would be \u201cheightened\u201d and officers would be on \u201chigh alert\u201d after the shootings at Bondi Beach.<\/p>\n
He said the scene with which first responders were confronted was \u201chorrendous\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I will say is that it\u2019s a tragedy that has taken place in a very small town that will have a big effect on the community.<\/p>\n
\u201cAny death in a small country town is confronting, but again, a scene where you have people shot by firearms is obviously going to make people very, very tense and very, very concerned.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a large search in the area underway and are requesting people remain indoors \u2026 for their own safety.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u2018Everyone is really scared\u2019, says resident <\/p>\n
Lake Cargelligo resident Manisha told the Daily Telegraph that police cars and ambulances were \u201call over town\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been told not to go out of our premises.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe town is made of just two main streets \u2013 we can hear the sounds [of the sirens].\u201d<\/p>\n
Another resident said \u201ceveryone is really scared\u201d and that police had not found the gunman.<\/p>\n
\u201cSomething like this has never happened. Everyone is shocked. Everyone is scared. They are staying home.\u201d<\/p>\n
Roy Butler, the MP for Barwon, which covers Lake Cargelligo, said the incident was \u201ctragic\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a terrible situation, and it\u2019s still live, so we don\u2019t have much information,\u201d he said in a post.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy thoughts are with the victims and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n
Police have sent a geo-targeted text message to everyone in the town, advising residents to stay inside and avoid the area.<\/p>\n
Another resident reported seeing police tape around the local pool, on Bokhara St, about 5.45pm.<\/p>\n
Footage from the scene shows more than a dozen investigators and first responders on site.<\/p>\n

Lake Cargelligo is about 564km west of Sydney and had a population of 1430 at the 2021 Census.<\/p>\n
