\n\tPaul Mescal<\/a> called Paul McCartney<\/a> \u201can extraordinary man,\u201d and revealed that he\u2019s spent some time with the musician he\u2019s playing<\/a> in Sam Mendes\u2019 four-part Beatles biopic<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking with IndieWire<\/a>, Mescal said of McCartney, \u201cTo spend any time \u2014 it\u2019s a crazy sentence to say that I\u2019ve spent time with that man, let alone play him.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tMescal didn\u2019t share any more details about the project, or his time with McCartney, though when asked if he planned\u00a0to sing in the film, he replied, \u201cYeah, yeah, absolutely yeah.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tAlong with Mescal as McCartney, the Beatles<\/a> films will star Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Joseph Quinn as George Harrison, and Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr. Earlier this year, Keoghan revealed that he\u2019d spent some time with the drummer<\/a>, telling Jimmy Kimmel he went to Starr\u2019s house, chatted with him, and watched him play the drums a bit.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tKeoghan then quipped, \u201cHe asked me to play, but I wasn\u2019t playing the drums for Ringo\u2026 It was sort of one of those moments where you\u2019re just in awe and you just froze.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tMendes\u2019 Beatles films \u2014 collectively titled The Beatles \u2013 A Four-Film Cinematic Event<\/a> \u2014 are set to arrive in April 2028. The movies have been described as the \u201cfirst binge-able theatrical experience,\u2019 though it\u2019s still unclear how the movies will be released, whether all at once or somewhat staggered.<\/p>\n

\n\tWhile the four films will tell the story of the band, each film will have one of the members of the Fab Four at its center. When the project was officially announced earlier this year, Mendes said of telling the Beatles\u2019 story in this way, \u201cThey\u2019re four very different human beings. Perhaps this is a chance to understand them a little more deeply.\u201d<\/p>\n
