Samsung may be working to solve one of the more annoying elements of its Galaxy series with the Galaxy S26<\/a>, namely the amount of default storage on offer.<\/p>\n

This information was first reported by SuomiMobiili<\/a>, which states that an unnamed Finnish retailer has posted color and storage options for the Samsung Galaxy S26 series. According to the post, the Galaxy S26 will launch with the choice of either 256GB or 512GB of storage. In comparison, prior models, such as the Galaxy S25<\/a>, launched with 128GB as the base storage option.<\/p>\n

The report also states that the Galaxy S26 Plus is expected to come with either 256GB or 512GB of storage, while the Galaxy S26 Ultra <\/a>will offer 256GB, 512GB and 1TB options. All three phones are listed to come in Black, White, Violet and Sky Blue in Finland. The listed colors match the leaked hues that we saw earlier<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This isn\u2019t the only time we\u2019ve seen these storage options, as prior leaks for the phone’s specs<\/a> indicated that Samsung\u2019s Galaxy S26 would be launching with a 256GB base storage option. As such, Samsung could follow devices like the iPhone 17<\/a> and OnePlus 15<\/a>, both of which offer 256GB as their starting storage amount.<\/p>\n

Outside of the storage, we have seen various leaks around the next generation of Samsung phones, including some big improvements. One potential improvement is that Samsung could increase the display size to 6.3 inches and include a 4,300 mAh battery<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The real difference will be in terms of processing power, as the phone is expected to feature either the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 <\/a>or the Exynos 2600 in some markets<\/a>. Even with that, there will be some debate around whether it will be worth upgrading from more current models.<\/p>\n

One potential issue has to do with just how much the phone will cost. There is some bad news, as reports out of Korea indicate that some markets could see a price increase<\/a> due to the current RAM crisis. Even if that isn\u2019t as big a factor in the cost, launching a phone with a higher base storage option may mean the price of entry is slightly higher than before.<\/p>\n

There isn\u2019t long to wait before we have a chance to confirm the rumors and leaks that have been coming out over the last few months. Most leakers and sources appear to agree that the Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on February 25<\/a>, slightly later than last year’s event, with the phone planned to hit shelves on March 11.<\/p>\n
