Dane previously expressed his gratitude at the recognition.<\/p>\n
Speaking last September, when it was announced he would receive the award, he said: \u201cThis award is more than an honour. [The award is] a reflection of the incredible strength and courage I see in the ALS community every day\u201d.<\/p>\n
The Euphoria actor recently revealed he is writing his memoir, which will be titled Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments.<\/p>\n
He said in a statement: \u201cI wake up every morning, and I\u2019m immediately reminded that this is real \u2013 this illness, this challenge and that\u2019s exactly why I\u2019m writing this book.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want to capture the moments that shaped me \u2013 the beautiful days, the hard ones, the ones I never took for granted \u2013 so that if nothing else, people who read it will remember what it means to live with heart.\u201d<\/p>\n
Dane \u2013 who has two daughters, Billie, 15, and Georgia, 13 \u2013 hopes that some will \u201cfind meaning in their own days\u201d thanks to his upcoming tome.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cIf sharing this helps someone find meaning in their own days, then my story is worth telling\u201d.<\/p>\n
