Turbo engine moves down to entry-level MG ZS model.
\nNew Vibe boasts 54% more power than Excite, for the same price.
\nIntent was to ‘end the compromise’ with cheapest ZS, says MG NZ.<\/p>\n

MG New Zealand<\/a> has brought the ZS 1.5-litre turbo engine down into an entry-level model, the $27,990 Vibe. Formerly only available in the $32,990 Essence<\/a>, the engine makes 125kW\/275Nm – a useful 54% increase in power over the naturally aspirated Excite, which also lists for $27,990.<\/p>\n

Given the price parity, presumably the Vibe will ultimately replace the entry-level Excite (although MG NZ hasn’t said as much). While the latter is still listed for sale on the brand’s website, it no longer appears on the official ZS specification sheet.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur philosophy with the MG ZS Vibe turbo variant was simple: end the compromise,\u201d says MG Motor NZ country business manager Dean Sheed.<\/p>\n
