Al Roker isn\u2019t going anywhere.<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, January 27, the weatherman, 71, celebrated his 30th anniversary on the Today show \u2014 with many more years to hopefully come.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, let\u2019s put it this way. I haven\u2019t thought about retirement,\u201d he confessed in a new interview with People<\/a>. \u201cSomebody at NBC, that might be a different story.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI love what I do. I feel good. I love this job. I love doing it,\u201d Roker continued. \u201cAt some point I guess I won\u2019t be, but I don\u2019t feel like that\u2019s anytime soon, so I\u2019m just gonna keep going.\u201d<\/p>\n

Change is, of course, an inevitable part of life.<\/p>\n

When Roker joined the Today show back in 1996, he replaced the late Willard Scott.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, the fact of the matter is we are each temporary custodians of this legacy,\u201d the meteorologist told People. \u201cAt some point I won\u2019t be part of the show, somebody else will be, but to be part of a pretty cool club is very special.\u201d<\/p>\n

Over the past three decades, Roker has also gotten the chance to interview everyone from then-President Barack Obama to Betty White and Ed Sheeran.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo say that this was a dream job isn\u2019t really accurate because it never dawned on me that I could be on the Today show,\u201d he admitted to People.<\/p>\n

When the day comes for him to finally retire from the morning news, Roker has already envisioned the legacy he hopes to leave behind.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople, when they watch, that they didn\u2019t feel like I wasted their time,\u201d he shared.\u00a0\u201cAnd that hopefully they felt better after watching than before.\u201d<\/p>\n
