{"id":255537,"date":"2026-01-28T07:57:14","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T07:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/255537\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T07:57:14","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T07:57:14","slug":"will-powers-first-indycar-sponsor-since-penske-split-revealed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/255537\/","title":{"rendered":"Will Power\u2019s first IndyCar sponsor since Penske split revealed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/G-FWdt1WEAAELk4.jpg\" alt=\"Power\u2019s first IndyCar sponsor since Penske split revealed\"\/><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tAndretti Global&#8217;s Will Power during the Firestone tyre test.<\/p>\n<p>Power will be sponsored by TWG AI, which describes itself as the advanced intelligence division of TWG Global, which also owns Andretti Global.<\/p>\n<p>TWG AI will also be an associate partner on the Kyle Kirkwood and Marcus Ericsson entries.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the first time that Power has not been sponsored by Verizon in his illustrious IndyCar career since joining Team Penske in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Power had been supported by Verizon for 17 years, most of which was uninterrupted. In 2009, he was supported by Verizon as well as Penske Truck Rentals at select events.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis partnership is rooted in curiosity, trust and a shared commitment to pushing what\u2019s possible,\u201d president of Andretti Global Jill Gregory said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe see tremendous opportunity in continuing to integrate intelligence in ways that support our people, our teams and our competitive goals, while also opening new commercial and operational pathways for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">First look at WP\u2019s new threads \ud83d\ude2e\u200d\ud83d\udca8 <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/7S5OnBdfGc\" rel=\"nofollow\">pic.twitter.com\/7S5OnBdfGc<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Andretti INDYCAR &amp; INDY NXT (@AndrettiIndy) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/AndrettiIndy\/status\/2016251026068685129?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">January 27, 2026<\/a><\/p>\n<p>To coincide with the announcement, Andretti Global gave fans their first look of Power in his new garb.<\/p>\n<p>His black and yellow race suit features TWG AI prominently \u2013 offering something of a hint of what his livery may look like.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement came on the same day that Team Penske revealed the car that David Malukas will race.<\/p>\n<p>Malukas replaced Power at Team Penske, and will carry an almost identical livery to what Power raced in 2025, as well as taking over #12 from the Australian.<\/p>\n<p>Malukas will join Scott McLaughlin and Josef Newgarden at Team Penske.<\/p>\n<p>Newgarden recently completed a Firestone tyre test with Power at Phoenix, who was joined by former Penske team manager turned Andretti team principal Ron Ruzewski.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was weird. It was more weird seeing Ron. I was like, \u2018Ron, what the heck\u2019. I wanted the debrief with Ron,\u201d Newgarden said of the tyre test.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was like, \u2018We like this tyre, right?\u2019 It was so silly. I\u2019m like, \u2018What are you doing over there?\u2019 Both him and Will.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat was very weird.
