Now more than ever, homeowners want spaces that feel lived-in and personalized, adds Laura Chappetto of Element Design Network<\/a>. Mauve is warm and approachable, making it easier to play with than a bolder hue, like aubergine, yet more interesting than a creamy white. Chappetto, like Meacham, calls out the difference even a year can make in trends, naming 2025 the year where color was the moment and 2026 the year it becomes the foundation. Color drenching with mauve is one of her favorite ways to use it, and she notes that it can feel calmer than if it were only used as the single accent in a space: “Drenching a room in the color evokes a sense of calm, while using it as an accent creates a bolder moment.”<\/p>\n
