{"id":256108,"date":"2026-01-28T15:59:08","date_gmt":"2026-01-28T15:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/256108\/"},"modified":"2026-01-28T15:59:08","modified_gmt":"2026-01-28T15:59:08","slug":"people-get-written-off-in-their-60s","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/256108\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8216;People get written off in their 60s!&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"\">Eamonn Holmes has slammed Britain for what he described as its \u201cageist\u201d attitudes on GB News. <\/p>\n<p>Speaking during a discussion about creativity in later life, Eamonn fumed people are often written off once they hit 60 or 65, despite evidence many reach their creative peak well into their 60s.<\/p>\n<p>A survey of 2,000 UK adults over 60 found that two-thirds believe they are more creative now than they were in their 30s, while 94 per cent say they are more inventive and adventurous than previous generations.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about this on the People&#8217;s Channel, Eamonn said: &#8220;I think we\u2019ve all got a little way to go yet, but apparently the super 60s, we reach our creative peak at the age of 67 .\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Commentator Tim Vincent said: \u201cApparently the super 60s, we reach our creative peak at the age of 67, so we\u2019ve all got ages to go. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But what\u2019s surprising in this report is who\u2019s already 67: Madonna, Kevin Bacon, Tim Burton I could understand, Gary Oldman maybe but there\u2019s loads of people out there that are already in their creative zenith. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They\u2019re already putting out more than they ever done before. At least our 56-year-olds still drink.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dawn Neesom said: \u201cI think the names mentioned in that story, Tim, are knocking the ageism out of society. They\u2019re still iconic. They still look good. They\u2019re still producing great work. So I think being in your 60s now is a brilliant thing, isn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Eamonn Holmes said: \u201cI think it should be.
