Newfoundland and Labrador has a total of 36 nominations for this year\u2019s 38th annual East Coast Music Awards.<\/p>\n

The list of nominees<\/a> was announced this morning in Sydney, Nova Scotia.<\/p>\n

Local artists nominated include Mallory Johnson with five, Kellie Loder with four, as well as The Irish Descendants and Rachel Cousins with three each.<\/p>\n

On the industry side; The Ship Pub and Majestic Theatre are both up for Venue of the Year, while Hilda Cousins and Roger Lockyer are up for Artist Management.<\/p>\n

VOCM\u2019s Greg Smith was nominated in the Media Excellence Category.<\/p>\n

ECMA Executive Director Bob Hallett says the theme of this year\u2019s event is \u201cthe business of music.\u201d<\/p>\n
