They\u00a0will travel to the International Space Station\u00a0aboard a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, propelled into orbit by a Falcon 9 rocket.\u202f\u00a0Crew-12 will join Expeditions 74 and 75 aboard the Station during their stay, which is expected to last around nine months.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Crew-12 will be the first spaceflight for mission specialist Sophie Adenot and pilot Jack Hathaway, who both have a test pilot background, and the second spaceflight for commander Jessica Meir and mission specialist Andrei\u00a0Fedyaev. Jessica will travel for the first time on Dragon, while Andrei will become the first cosmonaut to fly twice on the SpaceX spacecraft.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The crew of four\u00a0is ready for launch and is adapting smoothly to the new launch date,\u00a0maintaining\u00a0focus as they continue preparing to carry science,\u00a0exploration\u00a0and international cooperation into orbit.<\/p>\n
Sophie, Jessica,\u00a0Jack\u00a0and Andrei entered quarantine on Wednesday 28\u00a0January\u00a0at the Johnson Space\u00a0Center\u00a0in\u00a0Houston, Texas, and are expected to travel to the Kennedy Space\u00a0Center, in Florida, on Friday 6 February, where they will remain in quarantine until launch.\u00a0<\/p>\n
