This year, Books To Treasure will take place at Hardesty Regional Library, 8316 E. 93rd St., on Friday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m.\u00a0The event will feature a presentation and book signing with this year\u2019s illustrator, Ra\u00fal the Third.<\/p>\n<p>Books To Treasure is an annual tradition for Tulsa County second graders, who receive a free copy of the featured illustrator\u2019s book, the chance to get a special library card and an opportunity to see the illustrator in person. Through September and October, second grade teachers will coordinate with TCCL staff to get these special-edition library cards to second graders, or parents and guardians can take their second grader to any library branch to apply.<\/p>\n<p>2025\u2019s featured book is \u201c\u00a1Vamos! Let\u2019s Go Read,\u201d authored and illustrated by award-winning artist Ra\u00fal the Third, whose works celebrate modern Mexican American culture with nods to luchadores, Spanish vocabulary and tales of friendship. His honors include two Pura Belpr\u00e9 awards for his \u201c\u00a1Vamos!\u201d series, a Texas Bluebonnet Award for \u201cLowriders in Space\u201d and the Pura Belpr\u00e9 Award for Illustration by the American Library Association for \u201cLowriders to the Center of the Earth.\u201d Find these titles and more in the library\u2019s catalog at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tulsalibrary.org\/books-music-movies\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=http:\/\/www.tulsalibrary.org\/books-music-movies&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1757082011698000&amp;usg=AOvVaw2xPqlE86rRRrurEWymYwjQ\">tulsalibrary.org\/books-music-movies<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Books To Treasure has been sponsored by The Anne &amp; Henry Zarrow Foundation since its inception in 2003.
