A person has been taken to hospital in a \u2018\u2018critical condition\u2019\u2019 after a car rolled into a paddock near Outram this morning.<\/p>\n

Emergency services received reports of the single-vehicle crash on Lee Steam-Outram Rd (State Highway 87) just before 8am.<\/p>\n

A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokeswoman said crews freed one person trapped in the vehicle, which had \u2018\u2018rolled into a paddock\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

A Hato Hone St John spokesperson said they responded with one ambulance and a rapid response unit.<\/p>\n

One patient was taken to Dunedin Hospital in a \u2018\u2018critical condition\u2019\u2019, the spokesperson said.<\/p>\n

The highway was closed for a time this afternoon to allow for police investigations, but in an update at 3.35pm\u00a0NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi advised the road had reopened.<\/p>\n

Another crash closed SH85 near St Bathans<\/a> early this afternoon.<\/p>\n
