Are you one of them?

This doesn’t often happen, but it appears that the January 2026 update for Google’s Pixel phones pressed a major breaking point for users. According to wisespread reports on Google’s support forums and Reddit, Pixel users expressed some admittedly reasonable frustration with the sudden lack of Wi-Fi and even issues with Bluetooth connectivity, leaving them unable to pair devices.

Since the issue got airtime, Google has had official community members try to troubleshoot the issue for users. The issue with this approach is that because of the number of posts and comments on the trending topic, there is bound to be a number of users who haven’t reached out via Google’s forums.

A lot of basic recommendations have been thrown around, like factory resetting and starting the device in safe mode to determine what the cause is. Even through those recommended steps, commenters are still seeing the same issue. Since then, Google hasn’t made any official statement regarding the update or an incoming hot patch.

Advertisement – scroll for more content

One user noted that Google let them know it was aware of the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issue, per their post on Twitter/X. For now, it seems users on all affected devices – including Pixel 8, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and more – will need to wait for Google to release a fix. Nothing else seems to work.

But we really want to know how many of our readers are affected. Even though this isn’t an uplifting news post, it would make for some good data.
