\n\tBad Bunny<\/a>, Billie Eilish<\/a>, Shaboozey<\/a>, and Olivia Dean<\/a> all took home Grammys<\/a> Sunday night, and all took a moment during their speeches to speak out on behalf of immigrants or call out ICE<\/a> as the Trump admin\u2019s brutal and deadly<\/a> immigration crackdown<\/a> continues.<\/p>\n

\n\tBad Bunny shared arguably the most pointed<\/a> and poignant words while accepting the Grammy for Best M\u00fasica Urbana Album, which began: \u201cBefore I say, \u2018Thank God,\u2019 I\u2019m going to say, \u2018ICE out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe musician, who decided not to tour the U.S. out of fear that ICE would target attendees<\/a>, went on to deliver an impassioned plea against hate. \u201cIt\u2019s tough not to hate these days,\u201d he said. \u201cThe hate gets more powerful with more hate. The only thing more powerful than hate is love. So, we need to be different. If we fight, we have to do it with love. We don\u2019t hate them. We love our people, we love our family, and that\u2019s the way to do it \u2014 with love. Don\u2019t forget that, please.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tEilish, a frequent critic of the Trump administration, who\u2019s\u00a0previously called out<\/a>\u00a0ICE\u2019s deadly operations<\/a>\u00a0in Minneapolis, was at once thoughtful and blunt during her\u00a0Song of the Year acceptance speech<\/a>. \u201cNo one is illegal on stolen land,\u201d Eilish said, before acknowledging how it can be difficult to know what to do in times like these.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI feel like we just need to keep fighting and speaking up and protesting, and our voices really do matter, and the people matter,\u201d Eilish said. Then, before walking off stage, she declared: \u201cFuck ICE.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAs for Dean, the British singer-songwriter ended her Best New Artist speech<\/a> by noting that she was the granddaughter of an immigrant. \u201cI\u2019m a product of bravery, and I think those people deserve to be celebrated,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpeaking with reporters backstage after winning Record of the Year for \u201cluther,\u201d her blockbuster hit with Kendrick Lamar, SZA<\/a> didn\u2019t hold back. \u201cIt\u2019s incredibly dystopian that we\u2019re dressed up and able to celebrate accolades in the material world, and people are getting snatched up and shot in the face on the street,\u201d she said. It\u2019s understandable to feel \u201crage and hopelessness,\u201d she continued, but she\u2019s not giving up.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI believe that this is a time when we can dig deep as a community and really learn that, OK, it\u2019s not time to count on anyone else but us and our neighbors to protect ourselves. To rally for each other, to be that morale booster, to disseminate mutual aid, to take care of each other,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s always fuck ICE, but it\u2019s just a matter of, I just don\u2019t want everyone to fall into despair, because when you lose morale, change becomes, you know, impossible, but it\u2019s so not. It\u2019s so not. I\u2019m personally not going. I will not be going quietly into the dying of the light. So, I encourage everybody to stay.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tPrior to the main telecast, Kehlani ended Best R&B Performance award speech with a vociferous, \u201cFuck ICE.\u201d And Shaboozey dedicated<\/a> his first Grammy \u2014 Best Country Duo\/Group Performance for \u201cAmen,\u201d his collaboration with Jelly Roll \u2014 to the \u201cchildren of immigrants.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

\n\tThe country star, whose parents are from Nigeria, continued: \u201cThis is also for those who came to this country in search of better opportunity to be a part of a nation that promised freedom for all and equal opportunity to everyone willing to work for it. Thank you for bringing your culture, your music, your stories, and your traditions here. You give America color.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tGloria Estefan<\/a> told reporters backstage that she\u2019s alarmed about the state of the country. After winning Best Tropical Latin Album for Ra\u00edces, the five-time Grammy winner said she hopes \u201cour government listens to our plea for humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n

I\u2019m very worried,\u201d she said. \u201cI don\u2019t think anyone would say we want a free-for-all at the border, but what is happening is not criminals being arrested,\u201d she said. \u201cThese are people that have families, that have contributed to this country for decades, little children. There\u2019s hundreds of children in detention centers. It\u2019s inhumane.\u201d<\/p>\n
