\n\tGhostface is \u2014 almost \u2014 back. And so is Sidney Prescott.<\/p>\n
\n\tOn Monday morning, Paramount released the second trailer for the highly anticipated Scream<\/a> 7<\/a>, which sees a new Ghostface killer come face to face with the iconic final girl and also impacting the lives of those around her \u2014 including her daughter, Tatum (Isabel May), seemingly named after Sidney\u2019s friend Tatum (played by Rose McGowan), who lost her life to Ghostface in 1996\u2019s Scream.<\/p>\n \n\tThe trailer (below) is also set to release during the Super Bowl<\/a> on Sunday, Feb. 8. The film will additionally mark the first installment in the franchise\u2019s history to screen in Imax<\/a>.<\/p>\n \n\tThe previous trailer<\/a>, released Oct. 30, focused on Ghostface targeting Sidney and Tatum, with Sidney teaching her daughter the rules of surviving the brutal killer. In addition to Sidney, Courteney Cox returns as reporter Gale Weathers, who tells Sidney she\u2019s ready to \u201cunmask this fucker.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tKevin Williamson<\/a>, who wrote the script for the original Scream, Scream 2 and Scream 4, directs the seventh installment. The movie follows Sidney\u2019s storyline as a mother. Campbell has appeared as the franchise\u2019s final girl in every film except Scream VI (2023), from which she bowed out due to salary disputes. <\/p>\n \n\tWhile Campbell\u2019s return marks a highly anticipated moment for fans, the stars of the revival films\u00a0Scream\u00a0(2022) and\u00a0Scream VI, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, will be absent. Barrera was fired from Scream 7<\/a>\u00a0because of her social media posts about the Israel-Hamas war. Following her exit, Ortega left the film voluntarily. Christopher Landon (Happy Death Day, Drop) was also set to direct the horror sequel, but\u00a0also exited amid intense fan backlash<\/a> after Barrera\u2019s firing, despite not being the one<\/a> to fire the actress.<\/p>\n \n\tMore stars returning to the franchise include David Arquette as Dewey Riley, completing the legacy trio alongside Sidney and Gale. Matthew Lillard, one of the original co-Ghostface killers, is coming back as Stu Macher, as well as Scott Foley, Scream 3\u2018s Ghostface Roman Bridger \u2014 Sidney\u2019s half-brother. Siblings Chad and Mindy, played by Mason Gooding and Jasmin Savoy Brown, of the revival films, are also in Scream 7.<\/p>\n \n\tNewcomers to the franchise include May, Michelle Randolph, Joel McHale, Anna Camp, Mckenna Grace, Ethan Embry, Mark Consuelos, Jimmy Tatro, Celeste O\u2019Connor, Asa Germann and Sam Rechner.<\/p>\n \n\tJames Vanderbilt and Guy Busick penned the script, having previously co-written Scream and Scream VI. The Radio Silence team of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Tyler Gillett and Chad Villella serve as executive producers. <\/p>\n
