Alex Warren<\/a> has become one of the most prominent voices in music over the past year, earning a nomination for Best New Artist at the 68th Grammy Awards<\/a>. To celebrate this monumental chapter, the 25-year-old singer was asked to take the stage at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles to perform his hit song, \u201cOrdinary.\u201d During the televised event, fans\u2014and Alex himself\u2014realized something truly was out of the ordinary.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis would only happen to me\u2026\u201d Alex captioned a reaction reel on Instagram, highlighting what he heard through his in-ear monitors during the performance. Typically, in-ear monitors make it easy to stay in tune and on beat during a performance. Because Alex\u2019s in-ear monitors were malfunctioning and transmitting a jumbled mess of lyrics and noise, he ended up half a beat behind\u2014something he realized while walking through the crowd, at which point, he took his IEMs out to best recover from the situation.<\/p>\n

While Alex is being a smidge hard on himself for the technical difficulties, fans and fellow singers have been quick to cheer him on.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it made it even better because we knew you weren’t lip-synching,\u201d Andi Dorfman commented. \u201cHandled it so well,\u201d Jay Shetty applauded. \u201cNo one had ANNNNNNY f*!#ing idea,\u201d Chrissy Teigen exclaimed. \u201cDude you absolutely crushed that perform. Be proud of what you accomplished and this isn’t the last Grammys for you bud. Many more to come,\u201d one fan chimed in. \u201cI\u2019m so sorry that happened but you absolutely came back & ate down. So proud of you Alex,\u201d someone else wrote. A commenter on the Grammys post noted, \u201cTech issues have nothing on his level of talent. Phenomenal job.\ud83d\udc4f\ud83c\udffc\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Alex\u2019s wife and biggest fan, Kouvr, dedicated an entire post to her husband. \u201cI am so incredibly proud and honored to be your wife,\u201d she captioned a carousel of photos from the 68th Grammy Awards. \u201cGrowing up with you and watching you become the musician that I always knew you were has been such an honor. You truly inspire me every day and constantly encourage me to be the best person that I can be. Thank you for being you. While Alex didn\u2019t take home a win from the 68th Grammys, he certainly walked away with endless fan support to bolster him into his next chapter of music. We can\u2019t wait to see what\u2019s in store.<\/p>\n
