Crews have been clearing massive slips, blocked culverts and widespread debris across 40 sites, including eight sites with severe damage.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nQBCzZDznEEEs\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cWe know this delay is frustrating for people wanting to travel between \u014cp\u014dtiki and Matawai. Restoring access matters, but doing it safely is critical.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"nQBCzZDznEEEs\" style=\"display:none\">NZTA said the Goldsmith slip remained unstable and before controlled access could be allowed, more loose material needed to come down.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nQBCzZDznEEEs\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cOur next step is to remove the remaining material so we can reopen the route under controlled conditions.
