{"id":265591,"date":"2026-02-03T14:09:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-03T14:09:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/265591\/"},"modified":"2026-02-03T14:09:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-03T14:09:07","slug":"bill-maher-trades-political-blows-with-dave-chappelle-in-stand-up-clash","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/265591\/","title":{"rendered":"Bill Maher Trades Political Blows With Dave Chappelle In Stand-Up Clash"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Maher was among many critics of <a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/p\/fans-walk-out-dave-chappelle-show-hamas-attacks-israeli-war-crimes\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Chappelle Show<\/a> star and other comics, including <a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/t\/pete-davidson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Pete Davidson<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/p\/bill-burr-reporters-controversial-moment-support-for-killer-luigi-mangione\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Burr<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/t\/aziz-ansari\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Aziz Ansari<\/a>, Jimmy Carr and <a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/t\/louis-c-k\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Louis C.K.<\/a>, who performed at the festival, pointing to the country&#8217;s lack of free speech, record of human rights abuses and role in 9\/11.<\/p>\n<p>On the Oct. 3 episode of his <a href=\"https:\/\/radaronline.com\/t\/hbo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">HBO<\/a> gabfest, Real Time, Maher, 69, told his guest C.K.: &#8220;Dave Chappelle &#8230; was in the press today saying that you can speak more freely over [there] than in America.
