New Delhi:\u00a0Bollywood legend Govinda finds himself at the centre of fresh controversy after a late-night scare near his home. His long-time manager has come out strongly, claiming the actor was armed and acted purely in self-defence against unknown intruders.<\/p>\n

Amid swirling social media rumours painting him as a criminal, the truth is finally emerging\u2014what really happened at 3 am?<\/p>\n

\u00a0Govinda\u2019s manager clears air<\/p>\n

Govinda\u2019s manager, Shashi Sinha, who has worked with the actor for over 30 years, spoke exclusively to ANI to deny all rumours of criminal involvement. He described the tense incident that took place between 3 and 3:30 am last year, when a group of unidentified men gathered near Govinda\u2019s residence. \u201cThe situation was very tense and could have escalated had Govinda not acted instinctively to protect himself,\u201d Sinha said, stressing it was pure self-defence.<\/p>\n

Sinha revealed that Govinda had a gun in hand during the confrontation, with no security personnel around to help. \u201cHe did nothing wrong,\u201d the manager asserted firmly, adding that Govinda even sustained injuries while defending himself. The matter was immediately reported to the local police station, where a formal entry was made. Video footage and other evidence are available if needed, Sinha confirmed, to prove no illegal act occurred.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Frustration over rumours<\/p>\n

The manager expressed deep disappointment over social media posts misrepresenting the facts and portraying Govinda as violent. \u201cConfusing situations can arise unexpectedly and should not be sensationalised,\u201d he urged, calling on media and the public to verify details before sharing. Sinha refused to give the exact date but clarified it was unrelated to any ongoing issues. This comes months after Govinda\u2019s October 2024 hospitalisation from an accidental self-inflicted gunshot, where police found no foul play after his licensed revolver slipped at home, as per PTI reports.<\/p>\n
