\n\tNick Jonas<\/a> appeared on The Tonight Show<\/a> to perform his recent song, \u201cGut Punch.\u201d The musician began the emotional performance on the piano before standing up as the chorus kicked in. He was accompanied by a ballerina and two percussionists\/dancers, who added a sense of dramatic flair. <\/p>\n \n\tJonas released \u201cGut Punch\u201d on New Year\u2019s Day. It is the first single from his forthcoming LP, Sunday Best, out Feb. 6 via Republic Records. The album marks the musician\u2019s first solo effort in five years. He described it as a collection of \u201cnew stories, candid thoughts, quiet walks home in the city, and snapshots of my life over these past few years.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\t\u201cGut Punch\u201d reflects on Jonas\u2019 self doubt. \u201cI tend to be hyper critical of myself, not typically about my appearance or getting older, but I was wondering, \u2018Am I doing everything to be the best version of myself? Am I a present and thoughtful husband? Am I a good father?’\u201d he shared in a statement when he released the song. \u201cAs time goes by, the stress and complications of life will weigh on you. It\u2019s important to remember there was once a version of you who was carefree and loved the world.\u201d<\/p>\n \n\tJonas first debuted \u201cGut Punch\u201d live in November while on tour with the Jonas Brothers<\/a> in Las Vegas.
