Megadeth<\/a> frontman Dave Mustaine<\/a> readily admitted in a new interview he didn\u2019t know anything about Yungblud<\/a>, but after hearing about the UK singer\u2019s recent high-profile collaborations, the metal veteran advised the rising rocker to \u201ctake a break or find something else [musically].\u201d<\/p>\n

Mustaine was asked by NME<\/a> if he came across any of Yungblud\u2019s work, to which he bluntly answered, \u201cNo.\u201d When he was told that Yungblud won over Ozzy Osbourne prior to the metal icon\u2019s passing, and collaborated with the likes of Aerosmith and the Smashing Pumpkins in recent months, while also being touted as a savior of rock music, Mustaine issued some advice for the young singer.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen you say somebody is working with everybody, that to me means they\u2019ve reached a point where they need to either take a break, or find something else [to separate them from the pack],\u201d warned the thrash-metal veteran. \u201cBecause you run the risk of your song sounding like the last person\u2019s song, which then sounds like the last person\u2019s song.\u201d<\/p>\n

The interviewer then quipped, \u201cSo we shouldn\u2019t expect a collaboration with you and Yungblud any time soon\u2026,\u201d with Mustaine replying, \u201cAs far as me knowing any young bands or artists that I wanna work with? If I was going to work with anybody right now, I\u2019d keep working with Megadeth.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yungblud appears to be doing just fine, as he just won a Grammy<\/a> for Best Rock Performance for his live version of Black Sabbath\u2019s \u201cChanges\u201d at the \u201cBack to the Beginning\u201d concert. Moreover, his upcoming North American tour<\/a> sold out in a minute, although tickets are available via StubHub<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Mustaine, meanwhile, are about to launch their farewell tour with a Canadian outing that kicks off on February 15th.
