\n\tThe upcoming Peacock<\/a> crime drama series \u201cSuperfakes<\/a>\u201d has set its director lineup. <\/p>\n

\n\tVariety has learned exclusively that Jim McKay, Karena Evans, and Andrij Parekh are all set to direct on the show, which was picked up at the NBCU streamer in January 2025<\/a>. Evans will direct the pilot, while McKay will direct multiple episodes. Both are also executive producers. <\/p>\n

\n\tLucy Liu will lead the cast of \u201cSuperfakes,\u201d with additional cast members including Ken Leung, Bohan Phoenix, Michelle Lee Jones, and Keith Leung. The logline for the show states, \u201cA small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer (Liu) enters a dangerous black-market underworld in order to fund a life of suburban respectability for her family.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tMcKay recently worked on Season 3 of the hit Paramount+ series \u201cTulsa King\u201d as well as shows like \u201cSmoke\u201d and \u201cBlack Bird\u201d for Apple TV and \u201cAmerican Rust\u201d at Prime Video. His other credits include \u201cBreaking Bad,\u201d \u201cMr. Robot,\u201d \u201cThe Americans,\u201d and \u201cBetter Call Saul.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tEvans has directed on shows like \u201cP-Valley,\u201d \u201cSnowfall,\u201d \u201cDead Ringers,\u201d \u201cMr. and Mrs. Smith,\u201d and the HBO Max reboot of \u201cGossip Girl.\u201d She is also the first woman to be honored with the Prism Prize Lipsett Award in 2018, the same year she took home the Best Director at the Much Music Video Awards and Video of the Year at the BET Awards for Drake\u2019s \u201cGod\u2019s Plan.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tParekh won an Emmy for outstanding directing for \u201cSuccession\u201d in 2020, receiving a nomination in the same category for the show in 2024 for its final season. He had also directed episodes of HBO shows like \u201cWatchmen\u201d and \u201cHouse of the Dragon.\u201d Parekh is a celebrated cinematographer as well, working on films like \u201cHalf Nelson,\u201d \u201cMississippi Grind,\u201d \u201cBlue Valentine,\u201d \u201cRoofman.\u201d <\/p>\n

\n\tMcKay is repped by Verve. Evans is repped by CAA, Taj Critchlow\/Karoshi Management\u00a0& Granderson Des Rochers. Parekh is repped by Linden Entertainment and Murtha Skouras Agency. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe series hails from creator Alice Ju, who will serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner. In addition, Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie will serve as executive producers along with Howard Klein and Olivia Gerke of 3 Arts. Ronald Bronstein and Eli Bush also executive produce, along with Liu, McKay, and Evans.
