It took a $4.5 million effort to bring the sculpture to campus.<\/p>\n<p>The red-and-blue sculpture was placed on the Utah Museum of Fine Arts\u2019 south lawn near South Campus Drive.<\/p>\n<p>MORE | University of Utah<\/p>\n<p>The university announced the sculpture as a permanent cultural landmark and part of the UMFA\u2019s collection of more than 22,000 artworks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s truly thrilling that the acquisition of this amazing artwork has come to fruition,\u201d said Gretchen Dietrich, the Marcia and John Price Executive Director of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. \u201cIt\u2019s the UMFA\u2019s mission to connect people with art in ways that inspire curiosity and conversation and bring people together across time, geography and difference. LOVE is now a highlight of the UMFA\u2019s permanent collection.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Several donors made bringing the LOVE sculpture to the university possible.<\/p>\n<p>Donors included:The State of UtahThe Coburn Family TrustThe John and Marcia Price FoundationC.
