Two people have been injured and a section of the Main Highway in Auckland’s Ellerslie is closed after a serious crash before rush hour this afternoon.<\/p>\n
Police said the two-vehicle crash, which was reported at 3.37pm, occurred near the busy intersection with the Ellerslie-Panmure Highway.<\/p>\n
One person has been critically injured, and another seriously injured.<\/p>\n
The road is closed between the intersections of Ellerslie-Panmure Highway and Amy St.<\/p>\n
“Police recognise this will cause serious disruption to travel through the area.”<\/p>\n
It asked people avoid the area if possible and to expect delays.<\/p>\n
“Closures are expected for a few hours this evening.”<\/p>\n
A St John spokesperson told 1News it was called to the scene at 3.36pm, responding with two ambulances, one manager and one rapid response vehicle.<\/p>\n
One person has been taken to Auckland City Hospital in a serious condition.<\/p>\n
