Still, some forms of exercise, like lifting weights, can feel especially overwhelming to beginners.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re looking for a little extra weight lifting inspiration, look no further than The Office\u00a0star <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eatingwell.com\/jenna-fischer-just-shared-her-favorite-way-to-exercise-8717733\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Jenna Fischer;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Jenna Fischer<\/a>, who recently chatted with her\u00a0friend and co-host <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eatingwell.com\/angela-kinsey-go-to-2-ingredient-snack-11845011\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Angela Kinsey;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Angela Kinsey<\/a>\u00a0on the <a href=\"https:\/\/officeladies.com\/episodes\/2026\/28\/01\/episode-277-the-paper-ep-5-scam-alert\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Office Ladies;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Office Ladies<\/a>\u00a0podcast about a cheer-worthy fitness milestone. During the \u201cChit Chat\u201d segment of the podcast, Fischer shared that she\u2019s been lifting weights for over a year and is feeling pretty amazing as a result.<\/p>\n<p>When a listener asked what the duo\u2019s workouts usually look like, Fischer was more than happy to share her accomplishment. \u201cI would love to give an update on my weightlifting,\u201d the 51-year-old actor said. \u201cI have been weightlifting for over a year now, and I am so passionate about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fischer, who recently went through breast cancer treatment and is now cancer-free, said weight training has made her \u201cphysically stronger\u201d than she\u2019s ever been in her life. \u201cI used to work out, but my workouts were always\u2026 geared toward burning calories and losing weight,\u201d Fischer explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe weight lifting is about something else,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt&#8217;s about being physically strong and capable in my body. For me, it&#8217;s also about making me have less side effects from my medications because it&#8217;s been proven that that really helps. I can&#8217;t say enough great things about it. I love it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>And there\u2019s lots to love about learning how to pump some iron. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eatingwell.com\/benefits-of-lifting-weights-11756138\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Lifting weights;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Lifting weights<\/a>\u00a0can improve strength, yes, but strength training also helps with metabolic health, bone health and body composition.,, If you\u2019re currently sticking to cardio or team sports for your workouts, some weight lifting could also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eatingwell.com\/variety-exercise-study-11895683\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:help you shake up your routine;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">help you shake up your routine<\/a>\u2014which has some health benefits, too.<\/p>\n<p>Fischer shared that her workouts, which she started through the <a href=\"https:\/\/bodyfitbyamy.com\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Bodyfit by Amy;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Bodyfit by Amy<\/a>\u00a0at-home workout website, have been about building strength, not losing pounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wanna say, I have been lifting weights for over a year with no change on the number to the scale,\u201d she said. \u201cThis is really about strength, this is really about being capable, but I have lost an inch and a half in my waist.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fischer says after that chance meeting, she started working out with her trainer, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/bodyfitbyamy\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:Amy Kiser Schemper;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">Amy Kiser Schemper<\/a>, in person as well. \u201cIt was so meant to be and I love her,\u201d said Fischer. \u201cI mean half of our training sessions are just her deprogramming my negative brain thoughts. She&#8217;s part therapist and her whole Instagram and all of her YouTube videos, they have that same energy. I adore her.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fischer says nutrition is part of her weight training plan, too, crediting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eatingwell.com\/chocolate-strawberry-protein-shake-11718982\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:protein shakes;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link rapid-noclick-resp\">protein shakes<\/a>\u00a0with helping her get in the extra protein she needs post-workout. \u201cI like both the vanilla and the chocolate,\u201d she says of the shakes, which have over 30 grams of protein per serving.<\/p>\n<p>Looking for your own post-workout, high-protein snacks?
