Lana Del Rey<\/a>\u00a0has announced her new single \u2018White Feather-Hawk Tail Deer Hunter\u2019,\u00a0a song she wrote with\u00a0her husband Jeremy Dufrene<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In an Instagram Story shared today (February 7), she gave fans an update on the progress of her upcoming 10th\u00a0album \u2018Stove<\/a>\u2019\u00a0\u2013 revealing it is coming \u201csoon\u201d \u2013\u00a0and revealed that its latest single will be released on February 17.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just wanted to make a little message and let you know that my new single and my favorite song \u2013 this is the one I\u2019ve been waiting for \u2013 \u2018White Feather-Hawk Tail Deer Hunter\u2019 is coming out on the 17th,\u201d\u00a0she said.<\/p>\n

Turning to the album, she continued: \u201cI know,\u00a0you\u2019re\u00a0asking about the record. But honestly, soon, because vinyl takes three months, so\u00a0three months plus two weeks. I mean, it could be\u00a0give\u00a0or take a bit less than that.\u201d<\/p>\n

She said\u00a0she was \u201creally happy\u201d about the new single,\u00a0revealing that she made it with\u00a0Jack Antonoff<\/a>, who\u00a0she\u00a0said\u00a0\u201cfinally found that magical chord that was missing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Del Rey also said that the track was written\u00a0alongside\u00a0Dufrene,\u00a0as well as\u00a0her brother-in-law and her\u00a0sister. \u201cThere\u2019s just so many bits and phrases thrown in by other people,\u201d\u00a0she explained.<\/p>\n

The singer\u2019s follow-up to 2023\u2019s\u00a0\u2018Did You Know That There\u2019s\u00a0A\u00a0Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd<\/a>\u2019 has been in gestation for a long time.\u00a0She first announced it in 2024, teasing that it would boast a country sound<\/a>, and it originally went by the title \u2018Lasso\u2019.<\/p>\n

That shifted to \u2018The Right Person Will Stay\u2019 in late 2024<\/a>, and it was due to be released in May last year,\u00a0but that was later pushed back to September.<\/p>\n

In August, however,\u00a0she said that it would now \u201clikely be released at the end of January\u201d 2026<\/a>, and\u00a0revealed that it had been renamed \u2018Stove\u2019.\u00a0She\u00a0said the reason for the further delay was that she had decided to add six more songs to the\u00a0tracklist, but restated that the record would have \u201ca country flair\u201d.<\/p>\n

Last April, she did release the first singles from the album \u2013 \u2018Henry, Come On<\/a>\u2019 and \u2018Bluebird<\/a>\u2019 \u2013 but \u2018White Feather-Hawk Tail Deer Hunter\u2019 will be the first new music since then.<\/p>\n

She has teased that another song on the record, \u2018Stars Fell\u00a0On\u00a0Alabama\u2019,\u00a0was written about Dufrene, the alligator tour boat guide that she married in 2024.\u00a0\u201cJeremy is the most impactful person in my life,\u201d she said. \u201cHe\u2019s quiet in public, but around me he talks all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2024,\u00a0Del Rey spoke spoke to\u00a0NME<\/a>\u00a0about the album, and suggested that the lyrics might be lighter than on her\u00a0previous\u00a0albums.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve\u00a0maybe less\u00a0to say in terms of any self-revealing things like on \u2018Tunnel\u2019 or \u2018Blue Bannisters<\/a>\u2019 or \u2018Chemtrails Over The Country Club<\/a>\u2019, and just more melodic,\u201d she told us. \u201cMaybe more American Songbook style?\u201d<\/p>\n

She also added that there would be a more \u201cplayful\u201d feel to it than she originally planned, saying: \u201cIf you hang in long enough, it just feels easy.\u00a0There\u2019s\u00a0no\u00a0vindication, no nothing \u2013\u00a0I\u2019m\u00a0just\u00a0kind of happy\u00a0to be here.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0easy-going in that way.\u201d<\/p>\n

In other news, Del Rey recently\u00a0hit back at claims that she grew up rich, saying she has \u201cno idea what that would\u2019ve felt like\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n
