The Board plays a critical role in shaping the future of the hospital and supporting its work with partners to achieve an integrated health-care system for Sault Ste. Marie and the Algoma region.<\/p>\n<p>SAH is seeking individuals who bring experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas:<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tAccounting or audit&#13;<br \/>\n\tHealth care and quality of care&#13;<br \/>\n\tClinical program management&#13;<br \/>\n\tLegal expertise&#13;<\/p>\n<p>With an aim of representing the diverse population of Algoma, applications are particularly encouraged from Indigenous and Francophone candidates.<\/p>\n<p>Board Directors provide strategic oversight, ensure strong governance, and contribute to the long-term sustainability and quality of hospital services. This volunteer role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on local healthcare while working collaboratively with fellow board members and hospital leadership.<\/p>\n<p>Board Member Commitment includes:<\/p>\n<p>&#13;<br \/>\n\tRegular attendance at Board and related meetings&#13;<br \/>\n\tActive participation on the Board and its subcommittees&#13;<br \/>\n\tPreparation for meetings and familiarity with matters before the Board&#13;<br \/>\n\tWillingness to progress into Board leadership roles&#13;<br \/>\n\tParticipation in SAH-sponsored and health-related community events on behalf of the organization&#13;<br \/>\n\tApplicants must demonstrate a residential or business presence within the Sault Area Hospital catchment area&#13;<\/p>\n<p>SAH also welcomes individuals interested in gaining governance experience to serve as Community Members.
