When Gordon Ramsay <\/a>‘s daughter Holly announced her engagement to Adam Peaty, close pals David <\/a>and Victoria Beckham <\/a>were among the first to congratulate Gordon and wife Tana – with a cheeky dig.<\/p>\n

New Netflix<\/a> show Being Gordon Ramsay sees the chef read out a text from David taunting him about the cost of the wedding, for the cameras just after Holly has told him her news.<\/p>\n

But in his haste to read the message, Gordon forgets about his two youngest sons. \u201cI had a lovely message from David and Victoria,\u201d says Gordon. \u201cDavid was winding me up about how expensive it is with daughters as opposed to sons. Like he\u2019s got one daughter and we have three daughters and one son, three sons s**t, sorry!\u201d<\/p>\n

Holly and Adam feature heavily in the show. Gordon says, \u201cAdam is so grounded, he\u2019s not walking out as Olympic champion with his head up his a**e. He\u2019s my type of guy.\u201d<\/p>\n

Recalling the moment Adam asked Gordon for Holly\u2019s hand in marriage, Gordon jokes, \u201cI thought, \u2018F**k, he wants to borrow a car.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

Adam, 31, says he will remember the moment for the rest of his life. \u201cIt was quite daunting but it actually turned into a very wonderful moment,\u201d he recalls. \u201cI got tears from both the parents, which is always good, it\u2019s always a good sign.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s clear Gordon approves of his new son-in-law who married Holly less than two months ago on 27 December after a public fallout with his mother Caroline and father Mark, who didn\u2019t attend. Gordon says, \u201cHe\u2019s a gent, he\u2019s an absolute thoroughbred.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gordon Ramsay has filmed a new reality show for Netflix<\/p>\n

In the Netflix show,. Tana can be seen enjoying being a step-grandmother to Adam\u2019s little boy George <\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s happened very naturally welcoming Adam into our family and he comes with this incredible bonus which is this little boy George<\/a>,\u201d says Tana. \u201cHolly is absolutely smitten with him, which makes it even better.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Adam comments, \u201cI saw what [Holly] was like with George and I\u2019ve seen how her family works and when you marry someone you also marry into the family. For me Gordon is very fair, very respectful and also loves a good joke. We\u2019re very similar.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since Being Gordon Ramsay finished filming, Gordon and Tana have broken their silence on the rift with Caroline and Mark Peaty, insisting they\u2019ve done nothing wrong and would happily travel to the Peaty home in Nottingham and smooth over any differences of opinion.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s just upsetting,\u201d says Gordon. \u201cIt\u2019s all self-inflicted from their side because we\u2019ve done nothing – none of which you\u2019ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them. We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gordon says the decision to uninvite Adam\u2019s parents from the wedding was not taken by him. \u201cI would like to go up to Nottingham with Tana and see them and draw a line in the sand. It was Adam and Holly\u2019s wishes for them not to attend and so we had to respect that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Being Gordon Ramsay launches on Netflix on Wednesday 18th February.<\/p>\n
