{"id":277004,"date":"2026-02-10T14:15:07","date_gmt":"2026-02-10T14:15:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/277004\/"},"modified":"2026-02-10T14:15:07","modified_gmt":"2026-02-10T14:15:07","slug":"trailer-for-berlin-based-film-paradise-unveiled","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/277004\/","title":{"rendered":"Trailer For Berlin-Based Film &#8216;Paradise&#8217; Unveiled"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tEXCLUSIVE: J\u00e9r\u00e9my Comte\u2019s upcoming transatlantic drama thriller <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/paradise\/\" id=\"auto-tag_paradise\" data-tag=\"paradise\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Paradise<\/a> world premieres in the <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/berlinale\/\" id=\"auto-tag_berlinale\" data-tag=\"berlinale\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Berlinale<\/a>\u2019s Panorama section this coming weekend and Deadline can reveal the trailer.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tThe film revolves around two teenagers living thousands miles apart, one on the streets of Accra in <a href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/ghana\/\" id=\"auto-tag_ghana\" data-tag=\"ghana\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Ghana<\/a>, the other in a Quebec suburb, brought close by their search for a missing father.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tShot in Quebec and Ghana, Comte\u2019s directorial debut follows his short film Fauve which was Oscar-nominated for Best Live Action Short Film, and won the Special Jury Prize at Sundance, and best Canadian short at TIFF.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\t\u201cWe wanted the film to be an emotional journey, inviting viewers to actively engage with the story. It is divided into three parts: the first carries a mystery\/puzzle element, the second focuses on drama, and the third leans into thriller, flirting with action. We aimed for audiences to connect with the characters while being challenged by what unfolds on screen,\u201d says Comte.<\/p>\n<p class=\"paragraph larva \/\/ lrv-u-margin-lr-auto     \">\n\tNewcomers Joey Boivin-Desmeules and Daniel Atsu Hukporti star as Tony and Kojo, with cinematography by Olivier Gossot (Fauve, Young Juliette), production design by Sylvain Lemaitre (The Successor), music by Valentin Hadjadj (Close, Girl), and sound design by Sandy Notariani (The Father).
