Real Time<\/a> host Bill Maher<\/a> is feeling regretful about the breakdown of his relationship<\/a> with Jimmy Kimmel<\/a>, admitting that he worries the two \u201cmay never talk again.\u201d<\/p>\n

The late-night host made the confession to guest Adam Carolla<\/a> on the latest episode of the Club Random podcast<\/a>, saying, \u201cJimmy Kimmel, he\u2019s very mad at me. And I know you\u2019re close to him. I hope you tell him that, you know, I\u2019m sorry that he got bent out of shape.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back in November, Maher mocked Kimmel\u2019s wife, Molly McNearney<\/a>, on an episode of Real Time after she said she emailed several relatives a \u201clist of 10 reasons not to vote\u201d for Donald Trump<\/a> and cut off family members who did not comply.<\/p>\n

\u201cUltimatums don\u2019t make people rethink their politics. They make them rethink you,\u201d Maher said at the time. \u201cWrite a top 10 list to yourself where you try to imagine ten reasons why 77 million Americans didn\u2019t want to trust you with taking power\u2026 As I like to remind my very pure friends, we voted for the same person. You\u2019re just why [Kamala Harris<\/a>] lost.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher later admitted that Kimmel hadn\u2019t spoken to him since he made the comments.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think I did anything wrong. We can have disagreements,\u201d he told Carolla, per the New York Post<\/a>. \u201cThis is the difference between the right and the left. It bugs me so much. My tribe is supposed to be the left, but these are the people who just can\u2019t talk to you unless you\u2019re exactly there.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher called Kimmel \u201cone of the nicest guys\u201d and said he \u201cexchanged emails\u201d with him in the past. \u201cI did a mea culpa when we exchanged emails\u2026 just saying, like, sometimes I am a little brash about me when they compare me with the other late-night guys, and I\u2019m like, I\u2019m not like you guys,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m not. You could all exchange your monologues, all of you, and no one would know the difference in tone.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd like, if that\u2019s not good enough for you, then I think you\u2019re the a**h***,\u201d Maher continued. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think Jimmy is an a**h***. I think he\u2019s a great guy, and it bugs me that, you know, because of what the latest thing was, that we may never talk again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Maher previously addressed his falling out with Kimmel during an interview<\/a> with The Young Turks host Ana Kasparian in December. \u201cI was as kid-gloved as I could,\u201d he stated, referring to what he said about McNearney. \u201cAnd I see they\u2019re mad at me. Uh, I\u2019m sorry. I mean, I was being, again, as respectful as I could, but I don\u2019t agree with that point of view.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI love Jimmy. I always have. I don\u2019t know him that well, but he\u2019s a great guy. I hope we\u2019re friends forever, but I don\u2019t know. You know, the liberals and the woke, that\u2019s a schism. It just is.\u201d<\/p>\n
