On this occasion, Tomb Raider 2013 is demonstrated to maintain a healthy 60FPS average during various parts of the game when running on both the A19 Pro and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. However, a consistent framerate doesn’t necessarily mean the game is running at the same image quality on both phones, with the details posted below.

The iPhone 17 Pro Max can hold better texture quality, with only ‘Performance’ mode on Tomb Raider enabling that 60FPS experience

Overall, the gameplay shown by YouTuber Dame Tech is well optimized for both iOS and Android, but says that the iPhone 17 Pro Max equipped with the A19 Pro can produce better texture quality while also running Tomb Raider at a higher resolution. Whether or not the developers didn’t want to put in the effort on Google’s Android for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5-powered REDMAGIC 11 Pro to flex its muscles cannot be confirmed, but this is what we’re getting for the time being.

For those wondering, Tomb Raider’s rendered resolution on the iPhone 17 Pro Max is 2,151 x 990, but these metrics aren’t displayed on the REDMAGIC 11 Pro. It should also be noted that there aren’t any comprehensive graphics settings to take advantage of, with only ‘Performance’ and ‘Graphics’ presets included. As you would have guessed, Performance mode allows for both phones to hold 60FPS, while choosing Graphics would take that framerate counter to 30FPS only.

During the 17-minute video that you can check out below, we didn’t notice any stutters or frame pacing issues, though we’d still like to see with our own eyes how Tomb Raider performs on our REDMAGIC 11 Pro. One reason for the consistent performance was that neither device was thermally constrained at any point, with the REDMAGIC 11 Pro reaching only 44 degrees Celsius, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max was running at a much cooler 39 degrees Celsius.

What’s impressive is that the A19 Pro has better thermals than the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is not just getting tamed by a dedicated fan running at high RPM, but the REDMAGIC 11 Pro is also equipped with a liquid cooler running in unison. If you have played the game on PC and want to witness a visual uplift, you’ll definitely want to check this 8K mod with proper Screen Space Ray Traced Global Illumination that will knock your socks off.

We have also reported about the non-native version of Tomb Raider running on Qualcomm’s previous-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite, but what’s impressive here is that the title can maintain 60+FPS when being emulated at 4K. What this can mean is that the native port could use a little polishing on Android; otherwise, flagship smartphone owners can save a little money and enjoy the game on their emulator or choice.

News Source: Dame Tech

Follow Wccftech on Google to get more of our news coverage in your feeds.

[16
342,111,139,69,145
0":"post-277443","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-mobile","8":"tag-mobile","9":"tag-new-zealand","10":"tag-newzealand","11":"tag-nz","12":"tag-technology
["GET
