At 6am on Saturday police got information about a man \u201chiding\u201d at a property on Mayfair Ave, not far from where the stabbing happened, she said.<\/p>\n

Whiu said the man was found by police and arrested without further incident.<\/p>\n

He was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and has been remanded in custody.<\/p>\n

Police are now searching for security camera footage from residents in the surrounding area that may have captured information between the time of the incident and the man\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n

Whiu said police were asking residents to carefully check the time settings on their cameras, including any daylight\u2011savings adjustments, to ensure footage covered the relevant period.<\/p>\n

Whiu also asked local residents to check their properties for any items that may have been discarded by the alleged offender.<\/p>\n
