For years, Apple iPhones have had a secret button<\/a> located in place you\u2019d never guess.<\/p>\n

Technically that\u2019s not even a button, but it works like one.<\/p>\n

And no, it isn\u2019t the Action Button or Camera Control.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s a hint: it works with thick cases, too.<\/p>\n

A hidden button that you genuinely can\u2019t find<\/p>\n

The tech industry is packed with Easter Eggs and secret features people can generally never find by accident.<\/p>\n

There are secret numbers you can dial<\/a>, arcade games hidden in Instagram DMs<\/a>, and a useful face-blurring feature that comes as standard with all iPhones<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But this is something else.<\/p>\n

Most Apple iPhones come with something called Back Tap.<\/p>\n

Back Tap<\/a> is\u00a0an iOS feature (iOS 14+ on iPhone 8 or later) that turns the Apple logo on the back of the device into a customizable button.<\/p>\n

You can use it for Siri, take screenshots, restart your device, and so on.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s a very long list.<\/p>\n

Amazingly, it\u2019s supposed to work even in case you\u2019re using an iPhone case.<\/p>\n

This means modern iPhones have at least three secret buttons<\/p>\n

Some might argue that Back Tap is the third of three secret buttons available.<\/p>\n

The first two are the Action Button and Camera Control.<\/p>\n

Now, both the Action Button (which replaced the volume switch) and Camera Control aren\u2019t physically hidden \u2013 they\u2019re perfectly visible \u2013 but they do hide a lot of features some may have missed.<\/p>\n

Camera Control, for example, allows you to do other things aside from opening the camera app.<\/p>\n

You can use it to adjust settings, open camera-related apps (Instagram, for example) and plenty more.<\/p>\n

And there\u2019s more because a surprising number of people may not know that you can open your camera by swiping the screen left, and take pictures by pressing the volume button (both up or down).<\/p>\n

The list goes on.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s such a shame we\u2019ll never get to see an Apple Car<\/a>.<\/p>\n
