\n\tAfter news of James Van Der Beek\u2019s death<\/a> at age 48, Kesha<\/a> is looking back fondly on her time with the Dawson\u2019s Creek actor, when the pair co-starred in her \u201cBlow\u201d music video<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tOn Wednesday (Feb. 11), Kesha took to her Instagram Stories<\/a> to share two photos with the actor \u2014 one in which Van Der Beek is pointing at the pop star and one of the pair embracing \u2014 and simply adding red heart emojis over each pic. The photos were taken on a Las Vegas red carpet in May 2011, three months after the debut of their \u201cBlow\u201d music video.<\/p>\n

\n\tBack in 2011, Kesha enlisted Van Der Beek to play opposite her in the cheeky music video for the Cannibal single. The fantastical visual \u2014 which featured Kesha making out with unicorns and exchanging rainbow-laser gunshots with her co-star \u2014 turned the actor\u2019s teen-drama image upside down and showed off his previously hidden sense of humor.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWell, well, well. If it isn\u2019t James Van Der Douche,\u201d Kesha quips during a dialogue break in the video. \u201cI don\u2019t appreciate you slander-Beeking my name, Ke-dollar-sign-ha,\u201d Van Der Beek responds, poking fun at the previous stylization of Ke$ha\u2019s stage name. The video ends with Van Der Beek\u2019s head mounted on Kesha\u2019s wall as she laughs with her unicorn-headed friends.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cBlow\u201d was a top 10 Billboard Hot 100<\/a> hit for Kesha, peaking at No. 7 in 2011.<\/p>\n

\n\tVan Der Beek\u2019s family announced his death on Wednesday following a public battle with cancer over the past two years. \u201cOur beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning,\u201d the Instagram<\/a> statement read. \u201cHe met his final days with courage, faith, and grace. There is much to share regarding his wishes, love for humanity and the sacredness of time. Those days will come. For now we ask for peaceful privacy as we grieve our loving husband, father, son, brother, and friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIn the comments section on Van Der Beek\u2019s Instagram page, his famous and friends shared their condolences, including *NSYNC\u2019s Lance Bass, who wrote, \u201cWe are sending your beautiful family so much love. Safe travels James. You made this world a better place.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tReese Witherspoon wrote, \u201cSending all my angels to help carry him home \u2026 you and your beautiful family are in my heart,\u201d while Jennifer Garner added, \u201cWhat a heartbreaking loss. So much love to you, Kimberly, and to your kids, as you navigate this tender time.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tVan Der Beek is survived by his wife, Kimberly, and their six children: Olivia, Joshua, Annabel, Emilia, Gwen and Jeremiah.<\/p>\n
