The 203-foot-tall (62-meter-tall) <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/29295-rocket-history.html\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/29295-rocket-history.html\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/29295-rocket-history.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rocket<\/a> \u2014 the successor to the <a data-analytics-id=\"inline-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/ariane-5-rocket-final-launch-success\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/ariane-5-rocket-final-launch-success\" data-hl-processed=\"none\" data-mrf-recirculation=\"inline-link\" data-before-rewrite-localise=\"https:\/\/www.space.com\/ariane-5-rocket-final-launch-success\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">recently retired Ariane 5<\/a> \u2014 debuted with a test flight in July 2024 and aced four operational missions last year.<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"elk-seasonal\" class=\"paywall\" aria-hidden=\"true\"\/><\/p>\n<p id=\"d24811a6-5723-4f19-baa8-f6cc3f9de480-1\">However, all of those previous missions featured the Ariane 62, which has two solid rocket boosters.
