The lymph nodes are where immune cells are activated and \u201call the action happens,\u201d says Irvine, a professor of immunology and microbiology at Scripps Research Institute<\/p>\n<p class=\"rich-text self-baseline font-graphik text-body-large text-black-coffee mb-0 focus-visible:outline focus-visible:outline-black-coffee focus-visible:outline-2 focus-visible:outline-offset-2 focus-visible:shadow-focus-color text-left\" data-testid=\"paragraph-content\">Elicio Therapeutics, a biotech firm Irvine cofounded, announced in August that a vaccine that utilizes this technology was correlated with a reduced risk of death or relapse in more than two-thirds of patients with pancreatic or colorectal cancer in an early-stage clinical trial.
