However, Jamie\u2019s had an epiphany since the final vows.<\/p>\n

She says, \u201cI\u2019m actually glad it didn\u2019t work out. I\u2019ve had time to process it and the relationship wasn\u2019t right. When I interviewed initially with Daddy John [Aiken, the MAFS relationships expert], I said, \u2018I want a husband and if that doesn\u2019t work out, I want to learn something.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I learnt you can\u2019t teach someone how to love you. If you\u2019re asking for someone to meet your basic needs to prove your worth, it\u2019s not right. When you\u2019re choosing someone who\u2019s not choosing you, it\u2019s taxing on your self-worth.\u201d<\/p>\n

After the show, Jamie found unexpected comfort with MAFS groom Eliot Donovan, who walked out on his original bride Lauren Hall, before returning as an intruder to marry Veronica Cloherty.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t want to date anyone while MAFS was filming, but once the reunion screened, I finally felt single and free,\u201d tells Jamie. \u201cEliot became my safe space. We had so much in common from being on the show \u2013 I formed a trauma bond with the other cast members.\u201d<\/p>\n

The couple were coy about whether they were really dating, but Jamie now confirms they did give it a go, but they\u2019re no longer seeing each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did explore the potential of a romantic relationship<\/a> and, yes, we played doctors and nurses! We had fun, but we love very differently and we\u2019re both self-aware enough to admit it wasn\u2019t meant to be. But I\u2019ll always think highly of Eliot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Before the show, Jamie had quit her corporate job and had no future plans. <\/p>\n

\u201cTwo days before my last day at work, MAFS called and said they had a husband for me, so that was awesome,\u201d she laughs.<\/p>\n

The reality series has pushed her in an exciting new direction.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt made me realise I love being in front of the camera, connecting with people and making them laugh. I\u2019ve done a few presenting gigs and I just love it!<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I\u2019d really like is to join Daddy John and the experts on the show to provide commentary on the dinner-party behaviour \u2013 that would be right up my alley. I love analysing people.\u201d<\/p>\n

But Jamie wouldn\u2019t return to TV for just any reality show<\/a>.<\/p>\n

She insists, \u201cI\u2019ll never be in the jungle, eating bugs and fighting for my life! I\u2019m such a princess, I don\u2019t even walk barefoot in my own house.\u201d<\/p>\n

In the meantime, Jamie is working as a supervisor at a nightclub on Fridays and Saturdays, and doesn\u2019t have any plans to launch her own business.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am the business,\u201d she jokes. \u201cI wasn\u2019t on the show as a launchpad \u2013 I was looking for my husband. I gave the experiment a fair go. I cried real tears. Whatever happens afterwards, you may as well make lemonade out of lemons.\u201d<\/p>\n

She also only has positive things to say about Kiwi bride Jacqui Burfoot, who is making plans to marry MAFS groom Clint Rice. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m happy for Jac,\u201d Jamie insists. \u201cI was shocked when they got engaged, but she got what everyone wanted \u2013 a real relationship \u2013 so good on her!\u201d<\/p>\n

Jamie confesses that MAFS stirred up her insecurities. <\/p>\n

\u201cEven when exploring things with Eliot, there was past trauma coming up. I knew Eliot was going to have to pay for Dave\u2019s mistakes. I\u2019ve got to work on that! I\u2019m a ChatGPT therapy kind of girl \u2013 I\u2019ll dump my feelings there and work through them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yet despite her experience, Jamie is still hopeful when it comes to love. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m chronically single, but I\u2019d love to meet someone,\u201d she smiles. \u201cI want kids \u2013 like, yesterday! Maybe I\u2019ll find a nice Greek man, but my Greek isn\u2019t good enough.
