But when the animated Fox hit does end, don\u2019t expect a sentimental final episode. In fact, <a class=\"ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/title\/tt0096697\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Simpsons<\/a> is \u201cnever going to do a series finale,\u201d according to showrunner <a class=\"ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity\" href=\"https:\/\/www.imdb.com\/name\/nm0783468\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Matt Selman<\/a>. \u201cWe did an episode about a year and a half ago that was like a parody of the series finale.
