The plan is designed to support the agency\u2019s second ten-year implementation framework under the African Union\u2019s long-term Agenda 2063 blueprint.\n    <\/p>\n<p>\n        Abdelatty said the initiative aims to bridge<a href=\"https:\/\/africa.businessinsider.com\/local\/markets\/egypt-moves-ahead-with-dollar1bn-marina-and-hotel-project-on-red-sea\/gb8dcfe\" id=\"a34a72f7-6354-46d4-917e-2b6b406c7c6a\" data-link-role-code=\"open_new_tab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"> Africa\u2019s widening financing gap<\/a> while addressing persistent challenges, including poverty, unemployment, and food and energy insecurity. \u201cTeam Africa\u201d would bring together governments, development institutions, and private capital to fund high-priority projects across the continent.\n    <\/p>\n<p>\n        Egypt, which has chaired NEPAD\u2019s steering committee since February 2023, is handing over leadership to Angolan President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o. The agency\u2019s budget has risen to more than $300m. In comparison, a further $100m has been secured to bolster public health systems, digital economy initiatives, and agricultural development under the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme.\n    <\/p>\n<p>\n        Beyond financing, the minister underscored a broader strategy linking peace, security, and development, including updates to the African Union\u2019s post-conflict reconstruction framework and deeper cooperation with Cairo-based institutions.\n    <\/p>\n<p>\n        On climate resilience, Egypt is hosting a continental Centre of Excellence for Resilience and Adaptation to Climate Change.
