Elba won a place in the National Youth Music Theatre with a \u00a31,500 Prince\u2019s Trust Grant, the King\u2019s charity that supports young people at risk of exclusion and unemployment.<\/p>\n
The pair have worked together before and the King greeted Elba by saying: \u201cFancy seeing you here.\u201d Elba then showed Charles and Camilla the Idris Elba Studio, a professional film and TV facility, where students were working on a virtual production with an LED media wall. <\/p>\n
He joked to the King: \u201cWe are hoping that we could do an improvisation together.\u201d<\/p>\n
King hails Idris Elba as a \u201creal inspiration\u201d as he visits film school<\/p>\n
The King laughed it off, saying: \u201cOh yes of course\u201d, before telling students: \u201cHe\u2019s a real inspiration.\u201d<\/p>\n
Elba replied: \u201cI said to them: \u2018Who are you most nervous to meet, me or the King\u2019? They said: \u2018The King\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
Charles said: \u201cWell I\u2019m very proud of you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Elba said afterwards: \u201cIt\u2019s quite surreal. When you share a bit of your history \u2014 I\u2019ve known His Majesty for a long time through the Prince\u2019s Trust \u2014 and he\u2019s always heard stories of my journey but now he gets to see where it started. It\u2019s nice to share that. It deepens his knowledge of me and understanding of where I\u2019ve come from and the types of students that come to these places. I\u2019m one of them.\u201d<\/p>\n
On the benefits of the Prince\u2019s Trust, Elba said: \u201cMore than the money, it was the confidence. <\/p>\n
