{"id":295905,"date":"2026-02-22T00:29:08","date_gmt":"2026-02-22T00:29:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/295905\/"},"modified":"2026-02-22T00:29:08","modified_gmt":"2026-02-22T00:29:08","slug":"three-people-in-critical-condition-after-sh1-crash-near-redwood-pass-in-marlborough","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/295905\/","title":{"rendered":"Three people in critical condition after SH1 crash near Redwood Pass in Marlborough"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"nfOBuVOCysHhj\" style=\"display:none\">NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) said the road is closed to all traffic, with no local detours available. <\/p>\n<p class=\"nfOBuVOCysHhj\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cTravel between Marlborough and Canterbury is affected today following a serious crash on State Highway 1 south of Blenheim this morning.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nfOBuVOCysHhj\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cThe highway is closed to all traffic following a car\u2011versus\u2011car crash near Cloudy Bay Drive \u2013 no local road detours are available.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"nfOBuVOCysHhj\" style=\"display:none\">The Serious Crash Unit has been informed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nfOBuVOCysHhj\" style=\"display:none\">Motorists are advised to expect delays or avoid travel if possible.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nfOBuVOCysHhj\" style=\"display:none\">A spokesperson from nearby Riverlands-based business Tinto Containers said there\u2019s a long line of traffic being turned away by emergency services.<\/p>\n<p class=\"nfOBuVOCysHhj\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cBy the looks of it they\u2019re [drivers] not being allowed to continue south on State Highway 1.
