Throughout the past few decades, Daniel Radcliffe’s name has become synonymous with the Harry Potter<\/a> franchise, but the actor revealed that it will no longer be the case.<\/p>\n

Radcliffe, who played the titular wizard, along with his former Harry Potter co-stars, Emma Watson (Hermione Granger)<\/a> and Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), have arguably launched their careers through the popular film series. While grateful for the opportunities and doors that the Wizarding World has opened for him, the actor doesn’t want to be mainly recognized for a role he played as a child for the rest of his life. And, the new HBO series only made his feelings regarding his image even stronger.<\/p>\n

In an interview with ComicBook.com<\/a>, Radcliffe explained how the upcoming Harry Potter reboot has made him decide to change his approach with the press. He wants to stop answering questions about how he feels about the revival and the new actors playing the golden trio. He said that he wanted to fully pass the torch to the up-and-coming stars, and he couldn’t fully do that if they remained in the shadows of the original cast.<\/p>\n

The actor explained how he wanted them to create their own legacy. It’s their time to shine. He has unintentionally been attached to the franchise for the past 25 years, and it’s time that someone else took over. So, Radcliffe will no longer be answering any questions regarding HBO’s Harry Potter series<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m very happy there\u2019s going to be a whole other group of people to field the answers to Harry Potter questions. I am going to start passing those questions over in a few years.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the first time Radcliffe has expressed his feelings about taking the spotlight away from the child stars. In an interview with ScreenRant<\/a>, he said that he wanted fans to stop asking him, Watson, and Grint about the new series. He explained that comparing the original cast to the new one would cast a weird shadow over something that is supposed to be exciting and new. He wanted the new generation to leave their own mark on the franchise.<\/p>\n

HBO’s Harry Potter series doesn’t have an official release date at the time of this article’s publication. The only confirmed information regarding its release is that it will debut in early 2027.<\/p>\n
