In an interview with CBS Mornings, Hilary Duff was asked if her song, We Don\u2019t Talk, on her new album was about her sister. <\/p>\n
This was the first time she had responded to the rumours in 10 years. <\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, it\u2019s definitely about my sister, and just absolutely the most lonely part of my existence is not having my sister in my life at the moment,\u201d she told CBS Mornings.<\/p>\n
\u201cI really struggled with including that on the record, but it\u2019s funny as a person that exists in the world without my other half, so many people are having that experience, and a lot of conversations I have with people are like \u2018Yeah me too, me too, me too\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the recent interview, Duff said she decided to include the song to share her \u201ctruth\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s hard because I am me and people know everything about my life since I was a child, and I didn\u2019t necessarily choose that part, but it\u2019s my reality, and so it was honestly, like, healing to say,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
She said it has been hard to watch her life unfold on the internet, as well as dealing with the criticism of fans. <\/p>\n
She said sometimes the rumours were wrong, and sometimes they were right, but it was still \u201ca crazy thing to process\u201d.<\/p>\n
The So Yesterday singer said the reason she shared her truth in this song was not to lead to a reunion.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think that would help. I think I have to just exist as a person on my own and do what I want to do,\u201d she said in the interview. <\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t know if she\u2019ll hear it. I don\u2019t know how she\u2019ll react to it.
