President Donald Trump<\/a> and Jimmy Kimmel<\/a> are at it again, This time they\u2019re sparring over a fundraising email that landed in inboxes across the country. The message, sent to supporters on Trump\u2019s political list, targeted the late-night host and asked backers to respond. Kimmel was not in the mood to let it slide.<\/p>\n

In the email, Trump called the ABC host a \u201cratings-starved hack\u201d and accused him of mocking \u201cYOU and our movement.\u201d The message carried the tone of a campaign rally, even though Trump is in his second term. It ended with a familiar call to action \u2014 donate, step up, send a message.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe poor guy just LOVES to have my name in his mouth,\u201d the president wrote. \u201cBecause he knows that without Trump, HE\u2019D HAVE NO CAREER AT ALL.\u201d<\/p>\n

The note was distributed through what Trump described as his \u201cMAGA Blitz\u201d list. He urged \u201cmillions of MAGA Patriots\u201d to show Kimmel that \u201chis words have NOTHING on MAGA<\/a>.\u201d Supporters were also offered \u201cexclusive\u201d 2026 MAGA membership perks in exchange for contributions.<\/p>\n

Kimmel, who returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live!<\/a> after a short vacation, read parts of the email aloud. He appeared amused more than rattled. \u201cI was in my house doing nothing!\u201d he said, reacting to Trump\u2019s suggestion that he was \u201cback at it again.\u201d<\/p>\n

He also poked at the subject line, \u201cDJT: Get Trump out of your mouth,\u201d joking that it sounded like it belonged somewhere else entirely.<\/p>\n

Then came the bigger question. \u201cWhy is the president in his second term even sending fundraising emails?\u201d Kimmel asked. \u201cMaybe he needs to pay all the big, beautiful tariffs he has to give back now.\u201d That studio audience enthusiastically applauded that line.<\/p>\n

The back-and-forth comes as Trump prepares for a State of the Union address<\/a> this week. Kimmel teased a special episode timed to the speech, promising viewers a night of commentary. \u201cWe will have a special show tomorrow night to laugh at all the stupid things he says,\u201d he said, before adding, \u201cBut I digress.\u201d<\/p>\n

Trump\u2019s email also referenced Hollywood directly, saying he wanted to send a message \u201cso loud it shakes the foundations\u201d of the entertainment industry. This is not new territory for either man.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Kimmel has criticized Trump\u2019s policy decisions to his legal troubles. Trump, in turn, has frequently targeted late-night hosts, arguing that they are biased. During his first term, he regularly attacked television networks and comedians who mocked him. That pattern has continued.<\/p>\n

In Monday\u2019s monologue, Kimmel also touched on polling numbers and recent court rulings related to Trump\u2019s tariff policies<\/a>. He cleverly wove those points into his jokes. And he also noted that the Supreme Court blocked a key tariff move, calling it a major setback. He then suggested that sudden announcements, including talk of declassifying files related to UFO<\/a>s,\u00a0 often follow difficult headlines.<\/p>\n

The email at the center of the latest clash, however, was focused on one thing: Jimmy Kimmel. It asked supporters to prove their loyalty. Trump tried to frame Kimmel\u2019s late-night show as a cultural battle, and using\u00a0 the comedian as a hook for a fundraising effort.<\/p>\n

Kimmel read it, then paused and smiled. And he simply kept going.<\/p>\n
