During the February 23 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the comedian zeroed in on Donald Trump\u2019s recent flurry of activities, using it to question what might allegedly be hiding beneath the headlines.<\/p>\n
Kimmel opened his monologue by comparing the past week\u2019s news cycle to watching his house on a Ring camera while on vacation, except an alligator walked in. \u201cI can\u2019t stop watching the news. And Trump does so much stuff,\u201d he told the audience. \u201cWe were gone for a week. One week. He is now at war with the Supreme Court. He\u2019s threatening a real war with Iran. He\u2019s firing off tariffs\u201410 percent, 15 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n
The host also pointed to Trump\u2019s threats against talk shows and Netflix<\/a>, along with sudden plans to release UFO files. That last detail got Kimmel\u2019s sharpest observation. \u201cIt really makes you stop and wonder what the hell could be in those three million Trump Epstein files,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat? He is working so hard to distract us from. The only thing he hasn\u2019t done is set his n\u2014les on fire.\u201d<\/p>\n Kimmel\u2019s comment directly challenged the president\u2019s repeated claims<\/a> of being cleared in the Epstein case. Just days earlier, on February 19, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that he had been \u201ctotally exonerated.\u201d<\/p>\n When asked whether American associates of Jeffrey Epstein could face charges, Trump responded, \u201cI\u2019m the expert in a way because I\u2019ve been totally exonerated. That\u2019s very nice. I can actually speak about it very nicely.\u201d<\/p>\n Trump has consistently denied any wrongdoing. On February 16, he again told reporters, \u201cI have nothing to hide. I\u2019ve been exonerated.
